Hi, My name is Ruth and I am a 41 year old Wife and Mother of three. I live in Scotland, UK, and I am here to talk about making money.
Well, when I say make money, what I mean is the old saying:
A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned!
These days lots of people are feeling the "Crunch", especially Mums with children. Kids still want all the things their friends have, but the price of living seems to be constantly on the rise. It's not always easy making everything happen the way we think it should, with the money we have not going as far as it used to.
Did you know that most arguements between partners are caused by money worries? We don't want to be seen as poor, or even a bit "skint", we are worried about what the neighbors will think.
So what can we do? Some people try and sell their stuff on eBay - great idea but there is only so much stuff in your house. Many people are trying to get second jobs, but that means even less time with the family!
The Solution!
I was born in 1967 - I was a child of the recession ridden '70's. To make matters worse, my dad died in 1973 - leaving my Mum with three children, ages 6, 3, and 20 months. Needless to say, money was tight. So learned at my Mums' knee how to make things stretch that little bit further. I learned not to let people take advantage, to check things and check again, to save money at every turn.
I care about people, and how they can save money. I learned and so can everyone. If you apply the tips that I found, that have been passed down to me from my Mum and Nan, then you can save money too.
